Feeling kind of grungy

I don't know what has gotten into me lately...a big dose of testostarone?! It all started the other day with Chris' four wheeler layout. I started out with a background and frames from Mo Jackson and then got to playing with the tatoo brushes from Gaylord and it just snowballed from there. I enjoyed it so much that I made my own Grafitti Grunge kit and Frame ups for those extreme boy/guy layouts.

The kits are available exclusively at ACOT. There just didn't seem to be a lot of boy stuff in the digital world that isn't cutesy type stuff. Chris is at the age now where he gets mad if I scrap him using what he calls "baby" stuff and heaven forbid if I put a bow on anything! How I long for the days when he was a little thing and I could dress him in the cute little clothes and scrap any way I wanted. lol He so enjoys seeing himself growing up...no matter how much it breaks my heart, I know he won't stay little forever.

A little Easter Elegance

Just in time for Easter...a little Easter Elegance.... Exclusively at Acot.

I have gotten emails wanting to know when A Digi Memory will be back up and running. Unfortunately, I have decided to sell exclusively at A Cherry On Top and not continue to try to run my own site. I found that taking care of the admin side of it took much more time than I imagined and I would rather spend more time designing and scrapping. ;) Happy Easter to you all........hope your holiday is filled with incredible memories and beautiful photos to scrap.

Missing in Action

Yes, I have been MIA for a while. Things have been crazy and some days semed so surreal that I honestly don't think anyone would believe me if I tried to blog it all. lol Just finiashed a new kit, BINGO Baby. It is named after a phrase my aunt used to yell when she won at BINGO. This mini kit started out just as an alpha because I have been wanting a wooden BINGO letter set but it kept growing so this is the result.

Purchase and view details here.

Click here for more details. There will be crops for everyone from beginners to old pros. ;) Also, on May 5th, ACOT will unveil the first desinger collaborative kit: Circle of Friends. All the proceeds from this kit will be donated to Make A Wish. It was such an honor to collaborate with so many talented designers. This kit is huge and the colors are dazzling and can be used for so many things. I hope to see you all there. ;)

Fairie Doodles

Yes, in response to the emails...I do have a mother's day kit in the works. I apologize for being late getting it all together as I know many of you are waiting to get started on your Mother's Day page projects for gift giving. I promise I will get it finished asap. Also, the May customer freebie: Fairie Doodles is up. ;) All the doodles are serperate so they can be used individually or as a group. I included a cute border and some tiny love bugs too. ;)

Also wanted to share a couple of my favorite layouts of late. I had some vintage photos of my son done last year and am just now getting them scrapped. ;)

All three of the above layouts use a combination of kits found at Mo Jackson's store. The last layout below uses Kathryn Balint's Spring Baby kit.

Easter Eggs

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday and made a lot of loving memories. Just wanted to share my little one's Easter pages for this year. The first layout is him coloring eggs with his granny. She dyed all her fingers while helping him. lol They had such an amazing time. He also found his first golden egg at a hunt this year. He was soooooooo excited. The child was looking so hard for one of the golden eggs that he was only picking up yellow eggs and none of the other colors. lol Both kits I used are from Mo Jackson. The first kit is April One and it is so beautiful. The colors are perfect for both girls and boys. The second kit is her Moland egg Hunt and it has the cutest easter costumes for your little ones. Both are must haves for Easter. ;)

Happy Easter to All!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter and share a free Easter doodle. ;) Also want to share this wonderful passage I came across today:

" Your sense of value cannot be based on your achievements, how well you perform, how somebody else treats you, or how popular or successful you are. Your sense of value should be based solely on the fact that you a unique creation, you have something to offer this world that nobody else has, that nobody else can be. "

Here is the link for the free doodle.

Also here is a preview of my new Funny Bunny kit. It will be in the store late tonight. ;) It has both pinks and blues for both boys and girls. There are several more elements that I couldn't fit on the preview.

Rant: feelings hurt.

Okay, so this past weekend, the PTA held a family fun night where we showed a movie in the gym and gave free popcorn, drinks and candy to every family member as a year end give back to the school. Everyone had a great time and it was so exciting to see all the kids laid out on their blankets (like the old drive in movie days) and enjoying themselves.

There were a few ladies standing in the back and as I went back to help in the concession area I overheard their conversation about ladies there taking pictures. "Probably one of those scrapbook freaks who follow their kids around with cameras and scrap even their first potty". pause of big laughter...then the other one says she thinks it's weird that mom's scrap pages of events and try to make them appear better than they actually were like creating false childhood memories. Okay now I am fuming. Words were beyond me, I was so upset that I couldn't think straight. I probably shouldn't have let it bother me. But I couldn't help myself. When I went back to the floor, I made sure I passed between them and said," excuse me, scrapbooker coming through" and kept walking. So this afternoon, I went to pick up my son at school and who should be gathered in the hall waiting on their kids? You guessed it. As I approached, neither would look up at me and pretended that I wasn't there. So after I got my son out of his class and started back up the hall, I made a point of saying to him loud enough for them to hear that we needed to get home so mommy could get some scrapping done. lol

April Fools!

Okay, no April Fools jokes here. I am sorry I have not been updating lately as often as I would like but it has been a crazy few weeks. The PTA fundraiser has been driving me crazy and being sick on top of it just wore me out but I am ready to start the new month off right. The new April freebie...Easter Madness is available with all purchases through April and I have a new kit in the store as well called Cherry Sorbet. I had a lot fun experimenting with sequins and bling with this one. lol Doesn't everyone need a sequin and embroidered cherry applique?

Did someone need DIRT?

I sat the other day and watched my son play with his Tonka trucks in the dirt. He was such a busy boy digging and hauling dirt. He played for several hours in shear bliss in his own world where he was the boss of all those trucks. As I watched him play, I thought about how simple play is always the most fun. I put my camera down, put on a pair of old jeans and went to play in the dirt. This kit was inspired by our play time together.

SNEEK PEEK at Got Dirt kit ....coming soon

Easter Egg Project

Just had to share my contribution to the club's new Easter egg project. I so look froward to all the projects but this one was so fun and really a creative challenge in itself. Everything used is from Mo's kits except the bow on top of the egg. Her stuff is so versatile and can be used so many ways. Also, if you haven't been in the Moland mall recently, there is a great new set of designer label doo dads that are a real must have. Also peek in the show and tell gallery and see all the incredible easter eggs and paperdolls by the club members. They are one amazing group of talented ladies. ;)

Digi shopping just got better!

Just wanted to shout out a big congratulations to two incredible designers today. Kathryn Balint officially announced the opening of her own site today and is having a sale to boot! Her fun and vintage style is simply devine.

Also a dear wonderful friend of mine and fellow doo dad devotee, Fiddlette, has started selling at Scrapmommies. She has a new paper pack out (Sweet Whimsey) that is simply darling. Click here to see her newest additions.

New kit, update, ramblings and announcements

Well, it's official...A Digi Memory store is open again! I am excited also to announce that I have a few kits at A Cherry On Top as of today. I have a new boy kit called Here Comes Trouble that is available at my site, 3S and Acot.

Speaking of ACOT, Kathryn Balint has a terrific kit there called Birthday Baby that is simply adorable. I couldn't resist using it for my son's 1st birthday photo. He was so funny. I thought for sure he would dive right into his cake but instead he just poked his fingers in it and then cried when he got chocolate all over his fingers.

AND you KNOW I can't blog and not share my MO layouts. Her kits just work so well for everything from collage style to clean line. The first layout uses her Billie kit and was perfect for my Tommy Baby theme. The second layout is photos scrapped of my neighbor's daughter who dressed up as the Chick-fil-A cow on family night for our school. I love mixing and matching Mo kits. There is always so much to choose from. Also, if you are looking for some scrapping inspiration, there are some really cool layout challenges going on in her gallery and through the Mo Fan Club group.
